- Save - saves map together with current options and site list in the file.
- Save as picture - saves map as bitmap or Windows metafile.
- Edit - swithes to editing mode. "Add site" and "Add link" buttons becomes available (instead of lights panel).
While LinkViewer is in editing mode further Web analysis is impossible.
- Clear - clear all lists and map, returns to initial state.
- Print - prints map in choosen format (walpaper, with or without page frames, zoomed to one or two pages, etc.).
- Export
- As HTML - create HTML file which includes sensitive image map identical to LinkViewer's map.
- List As Text - exports collected list of URL's with known status as text file
Start - starts or continues link checking and map drawing from the page specified in "URL" field.
Stop - stops link checking. After pressing some delay is possible because of necessity to refresh map and finish analayzing of last retrieved page.
If the Stop command is accepted, yellow light on lights panel (see Main Window) is switched on.
Stop command is completed when red light is switched on.
Layout - allow to switch between predefined layouts (Fan-style, universal and symmetrical).
Options - allow to change different LinkViewer settings.
Report - shows report about errorneous pages. Not all links reported as unavailable are necessarily "dead".
The server may be temporarily out of action, too busy to respond quick enough (see Options to change
response time parameter). As a rule reported fail reason for such pages is "404-Connection aborted on request".
It is good practice to save failed links and check them later. The ones that fail a second time deserve serious investigation.
